Perfectionist Aamir Khan recently made a playful remark on Salman Khan. Riding high on ‘Peepli Live’s’ nomination at the Oscars along with the National Award for ‘3 Idiots’ and Aamir Khan – the ‘Perfectionist’ is making sure nobody takes away the limelight from him not even his colleague and good friend Salman Khan.

On being asked about Salman starrer ‘Dabangg’ doing great business with gigantic collections, Aamir said that the film is yet to break 3 Idiots’ record. He said, “I have seen Dabangg, and it’s a great film, people are liking it. But it has to break the record.”

Apparently, Aamir made it clear that ‘3 Idiots’ is still Bollywood`s biggest blockbuster and ‘Dabangg’ has a long way to go before it can break his film`s records.

The film ‘3 Idiots’ starring Aamir Khan was not only a huge success at the box office of 2009 but also created history with the maximum profit any Bollywood film has raked in so far.

The film grossed a profit of Rs 399 crore while ‘Dabangg’ is slowly inching towards similar figures. With Rs 300 crores in its kitty and it`s run continuing uninterrupted at the box office, Salman’s Dabangg is the only film that’s coming close to ‘3 Idiots’ figures.
The Delhi High Court Wednesday dismissed a plea against the title of Aamir Khan’s forthcoming film ‘Dhobi Ghat’ purportedly because it offended the Dalit dhobi (washermen) community, and penalised the petitioner for frivolous lawsuit.

The court rejected the petition, saying that ‘Dhobi Ghat’ is a geographical description of a place and is not offensive. The high court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Nisra and Justice Manmohan found no merit in the petition and also imposed a cost of Rs.25,000 on the petitioner and asked him to deposit the amount with the National Blind Relief Association.

In the end, as much as Richard Schaefer would like to pat himself on the back and Khan would like to posture via Twitter, it was Maidana who pushed for the fight.

Purse bids are risky propositions and for a fighter to insist on one is unusual. Eric Morel tried it for a bout with Fernando Montiel and came out of it—money-wise–looking like a man who fell under a threshing machine. He withdrew from the Montiel fight with an injury of dubious origins.

A purse bid might have also been a disaster for Golden Boy since Khan is reportedly guaranteed a minimum of $1.25 million per fight, allowing another promoter insight into just how much he would have to offer to win the rights to a promotion that common sense says belongs in England.

To a wily promoter, say Frank Warren, for example, it would have been the equivalent of a poker player knowing one of the hole cards of his opponent. In addition, Maidana would have been entitled to 45 percent of the purse bid under WBX rules, which would have been a few pence shy of what Khan expects from Golden Boy.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is set to return to television with a culinary show called ‘Amul MasterChef India’. Akshay’s love for cooking is well-known and now the actor is all set to host and judge ‘Amul MasterChef India’ that will be aired on Star Plus starting Oct 16.

‘I am very happy to be returning to my roots after so many years. My two favourites - cooking and camera/entertainment are coming together and I am excited to be a part of it. ‘I have been following the international version of MasterChef regularly and I am glad that now this interesting challenge will be open to the Indian audience,’ the actor told reporters here.

The show that will have 12 contestants, will give a chance to passionate cooks to showcase their skills and will also groom them to become the ultimate professionals of the art. Chefs Kunal Kapoor and Ajay Chopra will judge the contestants along with Akshay. When asked, what is it that he likes to cook, the actor revealed: ‘I don’t cook very often now.

It’s only when I want to relax and rejuvenate myself, that I cook. I like cooking different types of paranthas.’
Akshay used to work as a chef in Thailand before he got into Bollywood. ‘I had gone to Thailand to train myself in martial arts. That time cooking was the only job available so I did that. Then I started enjoying it. 

I used to find it quite easy and interesting,’ he said. In the past, Akshay hosted the reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

After keeping each other at bay for years, ex-lovers Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra are all set to come together again. And it’s not for a film but for a live stage performance.

The duo that had been snubbing each other for long now have finally decided to get up, close and personal and will be seen rubbing shoulders at sin city - Las Vegas - on December 18.

Akshay Kumar’s Bad Luck With Flops

The ultimate khiladi Akshay Kumar says even though he chooses his scripts carefully, some times they turn out to be major flops at the box office. Nevertheless, he is raring to go and claims his only motto is to entertain the audience.

‘I do read my scripts. In fact, I always have several script-reading sessions before I fully take on a movie. But remember, I cannot predict the future. Some of my favourite scripts have been my biggest flops, but they have sometimes been my greatest successes also,’ Akshay posted on Twitter in response to a fan’s query.

The fan asked the actor as to why he doesn’t get best actor awards even after featuring in so many films.

‘I do so many, many more movies than any other actor in Bollywood. Therefore my gamble is much higher. I would rather entertain my audience than ever win an award. It’s the people I want to please, not those attending award ceremonies,’ wrote the actor who gave a string of hits like ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Namastey London’, and ‘Singh Is Kinng’, among others.
We’ve heard that Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar are trying their best to acquire the remaking rights of the Telugu super hit DON SEENU. It is now come to light that two studios have pitched in for the remaking rights.

While Eros International has evinced interest to produce the film with Salman Khan, Studio 18 also wants to make it with Akshay Kumar in the lead. It is also learnt that Madhu Mantena (producer of GHAJINI) is also mulling the remake and is keen on watching the film.

After the debacle of Saawariya, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been very busy making his Guzaarish featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and producing Vibhu Puri’s Chenab Gandhi. 

However, it now seems there is a question whether Chenab Gandhi will have Sanjay’s involvement anymore because they have been reported to have part ways in March. But in the midst of all this, Sanjay is confirmed to be producing another film with Wanted director Prabhu Deva.

After initial rumors of Boney Kapoor bringing Akshay Kumar and Prabhu Deva together for a remake of Prabhu’s Telugu flick Nuvvosthante Nenuvaddantana (starring Siddharth and Trisha Krishnan) it is Bhansali who will be at the helm of this collaboration.

A high placed source connected to the film, has confirmed that Bhansali as producer and also, was the one to form the collaboration of Akshay, Prabhu and himself, and adds, “He has been known for certain aesthetics of cinema and that would remain intact in this new venture as well. 

However, this time around the target audience would be a wider segment of masses. Bhansali wanted to expand his horizon and conceived a mega project like this.”
